Taking Care of Business

by Tammy on April 10, 2018

I didn’t get as much packing done this past weekend as I would have liked to, but today is a new day, and I really must get busy. The moving truck will be here two weeks from today! Time continues to tick by. *EDITED TO ADD* I still didn’t get much packing done today, but I did make a grocery store and Menards trip because I needed a few groceries and some moving boxes. After I got home I got on the phone and started trying to take care of some business. I called my car loan company to find out about getting a copy of my title and the PO to find out how best to get my mail forwarded with the two week gap between residences. I also messaged my realtor to find out if there was any word on the appraisal we had done two weeks ago. She finally let me know about 1/2 an hour ago that it came back fine, so I think we have jumped the last hurdle. I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief!

I had my interview yesterday morning and I am pleased with how it went. I forgot to ask when they plan to make a decision, though, so now I must sit on pins and needles waiting to hear one way or the other. This morning I realized that if I get the job, I would be starting three weeks from tomorrow, so they will be forced to make a decision soon, and I’m hoping it’s by the end of the week. If I don’t hear anything by next Tuesday or Wednesday, I will assume that I didn’t get it. I do feel very strongly that I will, but waiting is still always hard.

After my interview, I had tea with an old co-worker. We can easily talk for hours, and although I planned to only stay an hour or two, I ended up leaving three hours after I arrived. She is a wonderful conversationalist and I am truly going to miss our chats. She will be on her way to visit one of her son’s and his family in Tampa on Wednesday and will not return until the day we arrive in Gulf Shores, so yesterday was our last tea date. I’m glad we were able to make it work.

Our weather is finally going to warm up a bit over the next few days before another winter storm moves in for the weekend. They are calling for highs in the 40s and another inch or so of snow in the area Friday and Saturday. I cannot believe how slow spring is to come this year. Everything is still brown and no trees have budded in my neighborhood. It’s like everything is rebelling against the weather this year. Even the robins showed up much later than usual, so I had a feeling we were in for a cold spring. Of course it will warm up as soon as we leave, so there is hope for those who will continue to live here. By the time we get to Gulf Shores, it will be feeling like summer. I am sad that I will have missed spring, but I am looking forward to beach weather.

Well, I am going to wrap this up for now and I will report back after I hear something about the job.

You will soon be in warm weather. I remember last time you moved and you hated the humidity. So hopefully you will adjust and enjoy your new life. If it is God’s will for you to get the job, it will happen. If not, there will be other opportunities. I am glad you had tea with your friend. I still remember our visits. We are lucky to have met up 3 times! Have a great week. Hugs
