Happy Summer!

Happy first day of summer! I hope the weather is awesome where you are. It has been very nice here. Our days are carbon copies of each other. We typically have mostly sunny days in the mid-to upper-80s and low 90s with a daily risk of rain. It rained today but I didn’t know it because I was inside at work. It also rained this evening a bit right as we were leaving the restaurant, but it was short lived. It looks like it rained more at my house, though, because there were puddles in the street when we got home. Every night we are treated to a pretty sunset. It seems like now matter how sunny it is during the day, clouds form in the evening and dapple the western sky, making for gorgeous gray and pink colors. I love sitting on my back porch watching the colors fade. I’m thankful that our back yard faces west. At my old house in Bellevue, our backyard faced west, too, but we were down in a valley so we rarely saw the sunset. I am really enjoying my new surroundings.

This week has flown by. I cannot believe tomorrow is Friday already. I get off work at 3:00 tomorrow and April and I are going to run over to the electric company across the street from our building. I need to order a whole house surge protector and April wants to get on a billed plan. Right now she has an account that she has to keep money in and they just withdraw the amount she uses daily. It’s weird, but she had her credit frozen when she ordered service, so they couldn’t run a credit report and that was her only option. Now she wants to get it changed. I want a whole house surge protector because we have a lot of storms down here. Our microwave stopped working about a week or two after we moved in. We have a home warranty, so the appliance repair place ordered two new parts for it before they decided that they didn’t know what was wrong with it and authorized us to get a new microwave. It was finally installed today and I want to protect it because I am afraid that it is all the surges we get with storms that fried the other microwave. It stunk being without a microwave for over a month. We bought a small countertop one to get us through, but I’m glad we could finally get it off our counter.

This weekend I need to write my last set of papers for my classes. I finally made it to the end of the session. This has been a really tough one with the move, so it will be nice to relax a bit and not have to worry about writing papers for a few weeks. I am only taking one class next term, which will be much more doable than taking two. I could take two, but with working full-time, I would not have much of a life, and I do not want to live solely for work and school.

That is about all the excitement going on here right now. I need to go in and take a shower and get ready for bed. I need to try to get to sleep earlier tonight. I stay up too late and then don’t want to wake up when my alarm goes off at 6:00 a.m. At least I know the weekend is come. Have a blessed weekend, my friends! xo

Hi Tammy, I miss seeing you during the day. I hope you like your new job. I don’t miss working at all but it was nice having a few friends there. All my crew is now retired. Most are on FB. My sister and her family are at Disney World. I am looking forward to Hawaii in Nov. If we had an RV like yours, we would be out and about. Have a nice weekend. Hugs
