Another Tuesday

I started writing a post a week ago, but only got as far as typing out the title. I guess the week was going slowly, or I was just eager for the weekend. I do not feel that way this week. Looking back, last week seemed to go quickly, but looking back, they all do. It is difficult to believe that this is the last full week of July. I always thought of August as the dog days of summer when we lived in Nebraska and Missouri. Down here, it is different. I am truly not a fan of cold weather and always said I would take the heat over the cold any day, and that is still the truth, but I have never been a fan of really hot weather either. It has been warm here since shortly after we arrived. Every single day, the weather is basically the same; sunny to partly cloudy wit a high temperature in and mid to upper 80s or low 90s and a chance of rain. When it rains, it rains. It is not unusual to get an inch or more every time. Usually we go no more than about two days without rain, but today is day four without rain. We are overdue, lol. All this to say that the dog days of summer have been here for awhile, but they have not bothered me. I love the predictability of the weather here and rarely even look at the weather anymore. That will probably change in the fall.

Saturday was very hot. I woke up and my back door was all steamed up and we were under a heat advisory, so Dan and I stayed in and binge watched a series called When Calls the Heart on Netflix. It is based on a novel by Janette Oke and I liked it because it was raged “G,” lol. Even Dan got into it, and when I got home from work last night he asked me if I was going to put “my show on.” We ended up finishing season four last night, and season five won’t be out on Netflix until December, so I guess we are going to have to find something else to do with our time.

I also started school again last Monday, so I am going to have to find the motivation to start working on assignments this week. This is my fifth class. I wish it was my last class, but as I said earlier, time always seems to go quickly when looking backward. Next week I will already be celebrating my three month anniversary at my job. At that point I will be off probation. Things are going well and I really enjoy what I do. That job is really made for me. There is only one other job that I would enjoy more and that is editing, but those jobs are few and far between. So are writing specialist jobs, so I truly feel blessed to have been given this opportunity. God sure did work everything out for us. Now that we are settled in, Dan is a lot more tolerable to be around, too, so life feels normal again. I am doing everything in my power to remember to enjoy life and to give thanks to God for blessing me so much. The beach will always be my happy place, and now I can go there whenever I want to. We went on Friday, but I am ready for another fix. I am hoping for a trip this week sometime. Oh, and I booked a cruise, but it is not for another year and a half. The ship that Dan and I honeymooned on calls Mobile Bay its home, so I booked a room for January of 2020. We will be gone during my birthday and I will have vacation time then. It’s a short four day-er and only goes to Cozumel, but honestly, both Dan and I are less about the ports and more about being on the ocean. One thing we share is our love of the ocean.

Well, I need to get ready for work now. I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will visit blogs later today or this week sometime if I forget tonight.
